Medical Respite

Mercy Haven opened the first certified Medical Respite Program home on Long Island in July 2026. This home, located in Bay Shore, provides short-term recuperative care for individuals experiencing homelessness who need a safe environment to prepare for, or recover from, an injury, hospitalization, or medical procedure.

 

This housing is available for Nassau and Suffolk adult Medicaid recipients who are experiencing homelessness. Referrals are currently being accepted through the HEALI 1115 Waiver Social Care Network.
