Community Residences: Preparing for Independent Living
Mercy Haven’s three Community Residences provide group living with 24/7 supervised care, supporting 34 adults diagnosed with mental illness as they work toward independent living. These homes are licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, ensuring a high standard of care and support.
Our dedicated staff offers rehabilitative and supportive services tailored to each resident’s needs. These services focus on goal-oriented interventions that enhance daily functioning and foster greater independence. Through personalized support, residents develop essential life skills that empower them to transition into more independent housing environments, such as supportive housing.
In addition to our in-house programs, Mercy Haven staff collaborates with medical professionals and mental health specialists to coordinate comprehensive care for each resident. These services create a strong foundation for long-term stability, well-being, and self-sufficiency.

Our work here helps our residents learn the skills to live independently. Even when I’ve gone home feeling really tired after a long day, I sit back and think how satisfied I am because I know we really help people.
