PERSONAL CARE AIDE P/T O/N

 

Mercy Haven Inc., a non-profit mental health agency, currently has a part-time overnight Personal Care Aide position open at our beautiful 26 bed adult home in Bayport. 15 hours per week.  Schedule is: Friday 11:00 pm - 6:30am (Saturday) and Saturday 11:00 pm - 6:30 am (Sunday). Must have EXPERIENCE! HS diploma or GED and valid NYS driver's license required.

Salary: $11.00/hr. Per diem positions also available. For consideration, call Human Resources at 631-277-8300.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Daily census must be filled out completely at 11:59pm
  • Be responsible for preparation and cooking of the dinner meal, which is refrigerated and reheated the following day
  • Check all rooms HOURLY
  • Set tables for AM shift
  • Wake-up residents for breakfast and morning medication
  • Set up for breakfast and serve
  • Serve menu breakfast as per calendar and cycle
  • Wipe down tables and push chairs in
  • Sweep dining room, mop dining room floor
  • Prepare and start serving breakfast
  • Carry out all assigned housekeeping duties – complete all downstairs cleaning
  • Assist with medications
  • Tasks as per daily chore schedule
  • To assist in any other tasks as is needed.

PERSONAL CARE AIDE – Per Diem

 

Mercy Haven Inc., a non-profit mental health agency, has per diem (as needed) Personal Care Aide positions available at our beautiful adult home in Bayport. Experience preferred, but not necessary - will train. Must have desire to help others! H.S. diploma or GED required and clean driving record.

COUNSELOR - FULL TIME

Work in our West Babylon, Bay Shore or Westbury Community Residence assisting residents living with mental illness in the activities for daily living. Salary: $11.85 per hour. Excellent benefits! For job consideration, please FAX resume to 631-277-9735 or e-mail to loricoli@mercyhaven.com.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services or
  • Associate’s Degree in human services and three years’ experience in human services or
  • High school diploma and five years’ experience in human services

ABOVE REQUIREMENTS ARE PREFERRED, however, High School Diploma

with 2-4 years’ experience in human services will be considered.

  • Experience in the mental health field or related setting
  • Clean Driver’s license
  • CPR & F/A Certificate (required within first three months of employment)
  • Work 4-days/wk on – 3 days/wk off

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the planning/evaluation of individual service plans and monitor plan objectives;
  • Hands on training and assisting residents in the activities for daily living and documenting interaction;
  • Responsible for accompanying residents on recreational outings and travel training exercises;
  • Provide counseling, behavioral intervention and crisis management;
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of the community residence;
  • Responsible for administration of residence in the absence of the Assistant Administrator;
  • Notify the Assistant Administrator/Residential Administrator of any medical/psychiatric emergency;
  • Provide transportation as needed for shopping, medical appointments, etc;
  • Write progress notes on residents’ activities on a daily basis;
  • Monitors management of medication;
  • Involved with cleanliness of residence; Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of staff office;
  • Advocate for residents’ benefits;
  • Teach residents skills needed to gain independence
  • Coordinate staff contacts with local service providers as needed to assist residents in accessing services and to jointly plan for discharge;
  • Work with support services on behalf of the residents’ best interest;
  • Assist and or model the various techniques required to maintain a clean and healthy living environment;
  • Responsible for other related activities
