Adult Home

  • Pleasant Gardens

Pleasant Gardens became an adult home in 1953 after a long history as a summer getaway on Long Island’s South Shore. This historic Bayport property dates to 1787 and boasted the town’s first hotel and lighted advertising sign!

Mercy Haven acquired Pleasant Gardens in 1998 and made it place to provide care and compassion to adults who are unable to live independently.

Mercy Haven offers its highest level of care to 26 individuals at Pleasant Gardens. Personal care aids are present 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to provide meals, cleaning services and medication management.

Staff keep things fun with regular outings for bowling, the movies, and regular shopping trips. Recreation therapists visit often to keep residents active and engaged and residents often participate in Mercy Haven programs and activities.

My favorite things to do are the trips, like going to the beach or to the Long Island Ducks game. I can’t wait to go again this year!
