           Volunteers are need in a variety of programs:

  • Creative Arts (for example teaching art/ceramics; creative writing; book club)
  • Mentoring through the "Breakthrough" program and work with an individual who is                            currently or has a history of homelessness
  • Cooking/Nutrition (seminars or training sessions open to Mercy Haven participants)
  • Public Seminars (partner with Mercy Haven to offer an educational seminar on                                 your expertise at our Main Office)
  • Administrative duties (providing help at the main office in Islip Terrace, NY)
  • Events (Help organize fundraising events or community projects)
  • Volunteering your professional expertise (for example: legal advocacy, general
    contracting/construction, architecture, financial planning and grant writing are just some examples)
  • Community Service Projects (Children can earn school and scout credits by organizing a project at one of our facilities.
  • Speaker's Bureau (Expert staff members can come speak to community groups and schools on a variety of topics)
