| Mercy Haven's mission is to engage and support Long Island's most at-risk residents. Through advocacy, housing, supportive services, education and outreach we offer the community a place to experience and practice compassion. |
Rosanne McAward joined Mercy Haven's mission because she
believes that the agency really serves people who are often
ignored and forgotten in our society. She volunteers her time
"to give something back for an extremely blessed life." Although
currently retired, McAward is most proud of becoming a school
psychologist, which afforded her the privilege of making a
difference in the lives of children and their families; in her
retirement, her skills have evidently translated into being
beneficial components of her role on the Mercy Haven Board of
Directors. Although she admits that she does not know what
the future holds for the agency, she is "certain it will be where
love and compassion are sorely needed."
