John G. Bendick

Appraiser and Advisor of Real Estate Matters on Long Island,
John G. Bendick was encouraged by Board Member and
friend, Leonard Saltzman to join the Mercy Haven Board of
Directors. "By and large, the people at Mercy Haven are some
of the most dedicated I have ever seen. They don't look at their
work as 'just a job,' but are dedicated to helping the people
Mercy Haven serves," he explains. He decided to volunteer his
time because he feels that through the luck and success that
he has been blessed with in his life, that it is his responsibility
to share and grow what he has been given. Bendick says that
his most memorable moment with Mercy Haven was when he
arranged for an organ to be donated to one of the Community
Residences, that he was invited to stay for dinner at the house
because the participants were so thankful for his generosity.

Mercy Haven's mission is to engage and support Long Island's most at-risk residents.
Through advocacy, housing, supportive services, education and outreach
we offer the community a place to experience and practice compassion.
